The Excel Panthers will take on the Andalusia Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Excel is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
Excel fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Cottage Hill Christian Academy on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 4-3. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Trent Williams put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Williams was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times he's played.
Williams wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Logan Adams, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, Andalusia posted their closest victory since March 3rd on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Ariton 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.
Riley Cravey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Andalusia is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 6-8-1 otherwise.
Andalusia's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-8-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Excel, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-15.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Excel has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .475. However, it's not like Andalusia struggles in that department as they've averaged .455. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Excel suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Andalusia when the teams last played back in March. Will the Panthers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
