The Stebbins Indians couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 57-47 to Fairborn on Friday. Stebbins has not had much luck with Fairborn recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, Stebbins still got an impressive performance from Bryson Bishop, who scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Ray'vonn Harris, who scored 14 points along with 3 steals.
Fairborn was led to victory by William Perry and Taiyou Williams. Perry scored 16 points, while Williams scored 17 points along with 5 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadon Larson, who scored 6 points along with 5 rebounds.
Stebbins' defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Fairborn, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stebbins won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Springboro at 7:30 p.m. on December 2nd. Springboro presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Stebbins in Ohio (Springboro is ranked 78th, while Stebbins is ranked 349th). As for Fairborn, they will head out on the road to face off against Carroll at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
