Basketball Recap: Jordan Patterson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Marshall Academy over Will Carleton Academy

Marshall Academy lost against Will Carleton Academy back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Marshall Academy Griffons took a 49-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Will Carleton Academy Cougars. The match marked the Griffons' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Marshall Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Patterson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards. Patterson has been hot, having posted ten or more rebounds the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Delray White, who posted seven points and five boards.

Marshall Academy moved to 8-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Will Carleton Academy, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marshall Academy will venture away from home to face off against Barry County Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Barry County Christian will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Marshall Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Will Carleton Academy, they are taking a road trip to square off against Calhoun Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
