The St. Andrew's Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 31-22 defeat to New Hampstead. St. Andrew's has not had much luck with New Hampstead recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Claire Fleming and Coco Carnahan certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Fleming scored ten points along with nine rebounds and three steals, while Carnahan scored ten points along with five rebounds. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for her.
St. Andrew's loss was their sixth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.0 points per game. As for New Hampstead, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.
Coincidentally, St. Andrew's and New Hampstead will both be playing The Habersham School the next time they take the court. New Hampstead will host The Habersham School at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while St. Andrew's will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
