Basketball Recap: Pueblo South's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Pueblo South won the last time they faced Air Academy, and Caeden Herrera did his part to make sure it happened again. The Pueblo South Colts put the hurt on the Air Academy Kadets with a sharp 72-50 win on Saturday thanks in part to Herrera, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rebounds.

Another player making a difference was J'Rell Williams, who posted 17 points. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

With the victory, Pueblo South broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-5. As for Air Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Pueblo South and Littleton will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Littleton has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 208 points over their last three matches. As for Air Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Falcon at 1:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Falcon is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.1 points per game this season.
