The Kecoughtan Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Heritage Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Kecoughtan fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Woodside by a score of 18-10 on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Heritage put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season on Friday. They really took it to Gloucester for the full four quarters, racking up a 47-19 win at home. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Heritage had established a 20 point advantage.
Heritage found their leader in underclassman Tyree Wilson, who rushed for 89 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries. Wilson was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 50 yards. Another player making a difference was Rayshawn Pierce-malone, who rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries.
Kecoughtan's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Heritage, their win also bumped their record up to an identical 3-5.
Kecoughtan was able to grind out a solid victory over Heritage in their previous matchup back in September of 2022, winning 28-15. Will Kecoughtan repeat their success, or does Heritage have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
