Basketball Recap: East Surry Skates Past Wilkes Central with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Surry). They blew past the Wilkes Central Eagles, posting a 76-49 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Defeat or not, Wilkes Central got some senior leadership from Brady Scott and Noah McNeil. Scott posted 11 points and three steals, while McNeil had seven points in addition to seven boards and five assists. The dominant performance gave McNeil a new career-high in assists. Another player making a difference was Aiden Parks, who put up six points.

East Surry's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-6. As for Wilkes Central, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.

East Surry didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 66-49 win against Mount Airy on the 8th. As for Wilkes Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 60-48 victory against Hibriten on the 8th.
