The Northside Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Sharpstown Apollos at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for Northside and nine for Sharpstown.
Northside fell victim to Ball's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Tornadoes at home and fell 72-0. While losing is never fun, Northside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 1191st, while Ball is ranked 368th).
Meanwhile, Sharpstown also failed to score in their most recent game. They had to suffer through a rough 57-0 loss at the hands of Waltrip.
Northside's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. As for Sharpstown, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.
Northside lost to Sharpstown on the road by a decisive 24-6 margin in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Can Northside avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
