After flying high against Leakey last Tuesday, Utopia came back down to earth. The Buffaloes had to suffer through a 64-35 loss at the hands of the McMullen County Cowboys. The Buffaloes' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Lawson Leavelle and Brayden Long certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Leavelle posted 17 points and six boards, while Long scored 13 points. Long is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Utopia's loss dropped their record down to 16-15. As for McMullen County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 19 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-5 record this season.
