Meanwhile, even though Christian Fellowship scored an imposing 60 points on Tuesday, Dawson Springs still came out on top. Dawson Springs put the hurt on Christian Fellowship with a sharp 85-60 win.
Dawson Springs relied on the efforts of Montgomery Johnston, who scored 27 points along with 7 assists and 3 steals, and Rex Blue, who went 8 for 15 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and 6 assists. Another player making a difference was Casey Fain, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds.
Webster County's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Dawson Springs, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 1-0.
Everything went Webster County's way against Dawson Springs when the teams last played back in November of 2022 as Webster County made off with a 62-39 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Webster County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
