Salome is 9-1 against Bagdad since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Salome Frogs will head out on the road to challenge the Bagdad Sultans at 7:00 p.m. Salome has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Salome scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 73-47 margin over Desert Heights Prep. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Salome has posted since December 14, 2023.
Jibran Castillo was his usual excellent self, scoring 31 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jovany Calderon, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Bagdad's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 44-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Phoenix Preparatory Academy. Bagdad has struggled against North Phoenix Preparatory Academy recently, as their matchup on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Salome is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Bagdad, they bumped their record down to 4-12 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Salome against Bagdad in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 80-35 victory. Will Salome repeat their success, or does Bagdad have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
