There's no place like home for the Rim of the World Fighting Scots, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 50-49 win over Montclair. This was payback for Rim of the World, who suffered a 61-53 loss the last time these two teams met.
Rim of the World got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ethan Thornburg out in front who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Thornburg has scored at least 25% of Rim of the World's points. Another player making a difference was Jackson Urquiza, who scored 9 points along with 14 rebounds and 7 assists.
Rim of the World's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Montclair, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 2-4.
Rim of the World will head out on the road to face off against San Gorgonio at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Montclair, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against West Covina at 6:00 p.m.
