If Chicago Mathematics & Science were feeling good off their 77-20 takedown of the Rickover Naval Seadragons last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Chicago Mathematics & Science took a 59-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Foreman. Chicago Mathematics & Science lost against Foreman in their previous head to head back in December of 2017, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 71-28 score last time.
Despite the loss, Chicago Mathematics & Science still got an impressive performance from Marcus Hughes-Bey, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Hughes-Bey is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Casey Fleming, who scored 11 points along with four steals and two blocks.
Chicago Mathematics & Science has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for Foreman, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chicago Mathematics & Science will take on Alcott/DeVry Advantage Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Foreman won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Lake View at 5:00 p.m. on January 18th. Lake View will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
