After a string of four wins, Firelands's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell to the Westlake Demons 63-59. The Falcons were probably out for revenge after losing 59-54 to them when the teams met back in December of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Westlake's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryan Turk, who posted 16 points. Another player making a difference was Evan Hargett, who put up seven points and 12 rebounds.

Firelands' defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Westlake, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Firelands will finish 2024 at home by hosting Vermilion at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Westlake, they will welcome Avon at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Westlake is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.3 points per game this season.
