Douglas County came into Saturday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They secured a 51-46 W over Paulding County on Saturday. The win was just what Douglas County needed coming off of a 68-41 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, East Paulding's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They fell 46-35 to Alexander. While losing is never fun, East Paulding can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 394th, while the Cougars are ranked 165th).
Douglas County's victory bumped their record up to 11-12. As for East Paulding, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost 12 of their last 13 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-21 record this season.
