The Greer Yellow Jackets won the last time they faced the Powdersville Patriots, and things went their way on Thursday too. Greer strolled past Powdersville with points to spare, taking the game 52-38.
Leading Greer to victory were Amiyah Clark-Lamelle and Jalasia Lewis. Clark-Lamelle scored 19 points along with 6 steals and 5 rebounds, while Lewis dropped a double-double on 17 points and 10 rebounds. The match was Clark-Lamelle's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Samora Moody was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 8 steals.
Bree Woods and Makayla Assemian certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Woods scored 9 points along with 5 steals, while Assemian scored 9 points along with 3 steals. Assemian is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now stole two or more in the last three games she's played.
The win got Greer back to even at 3-3. As for Powdersville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greer won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Blue Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on December 8th. Blue Ridge presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Greer in South Carolina (Blue Ridge is ranked 35th, while Greer is ranked 114th). As for Powdersville, they will head out on the road to face off against Wade Hampton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
