After a string of five wins, Oakstone Academy's's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 44-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Gilead Christian. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Oakstone Academy has scored all season.
Talan Blankenship continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Gilead Christian, scoring 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Denim Myers, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Oakstone Academy's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-2. As for Gilead Christian, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
Oakstone Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Columbus Torah Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 8th.
