The Victoria Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Macksville Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Victoria narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Eagles 51-48.
Victoria's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kennidy Amrein, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Amrein has scored all season. Averi Windholz was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Macksville came into Tuesday's match having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 36-28 win over LaCrosse on Tuesday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Macksville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kambry Adams, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Sanders, who scored four points along with five rebounds and five blocks.
Victoria's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Macksville, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Victoria have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 35.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Macksville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.2 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Victoria was taken down by the Mustangs 61-23 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Victoria was down 38-16.
