On Saturday, Hilton Head Christian Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 48-44 to Brunswick.
Loss or not, Hilton Head Christian Academy got some senior leadership from Morgan Scott and Devon Yarde. Scott scored 13 points along with six rebounds and four steals, while Yarde. scored 20 points along with three steals. Yarde hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games.
Shanyece Quick continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Brunswick, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Lauryn Walker was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with ten rebounds.
Hilton Head Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Brunswick, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 14-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hilton Head Christian Academy will take on Hilton Head Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Courtney Campbell and Tamya Hutchinson. As for Brunswick, they will be playing at home against Effingham County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Effingham County has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 2.
