The Lawrenceburg Tigers and the Providence Pioneers will round out the year against one another at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. Lawrenceburg will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Last Thursday, Lawrenceburg strolled past Rising Sun with points to spare, taking the game 54-38.
Lawrenceburg found their leader in underclassman Brooklyn Craig, who scored 20 points along with three steals. The match was Craig's 13th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubree Labazzo, who scored six points along with seven steals and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Providence waltzed into their contest Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They managed a 44-40 win over Brownstown Central.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Providence to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayda Kempf, who scored 18 points. That's the first time this season that Kempf scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Avery Smith, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds.
Lawrenceburg now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Providence, they now also have a winning record of 7-6.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Lawrenceburg have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 24.8 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Providence, though, as they've been averaging only 24.2 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
