It was a good run, but the South Garner Titans unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They lost to Garner at home by a decisive 66-51 margin. South Garner has struggled against Garner recently, as their game on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, South Garner still got an impressive performance from Jayden Littles, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for him. Najai Hines was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds.
South Garner's defeat dropped their record down to 5-1. As for Garner, they pushed their record up to 3-2 with that victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Garner will take on Clayton at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Clayton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Saturday. As for Garner, they will head out on the road to face off against Willow Spring at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Willow Spring is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
