Northfield waltzed into their match on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They put the hurt on the George Washington Patriots with a sharp 16-5 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-4 back in March.

Adler Hickey looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jack Phiel was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Logan Bader, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Northfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive contests.

Northfield's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for George Washington, their record is now 5-4.

Northfield didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-2 win against Summit on the 9th. As for George Washington, they have also already played their next match, a 9-3 loss against Standley Lake on the 9th.
