On Thursday, The Lewis Falcons got themselves on the board against the Douglass Mighty Ducks, but the Douglass Mighty Ducks never followed suit. They walked away with a 10-0 win over the Mighty Ducks. The victory was nothing new for Lewis as they're now sitting on three straight.
Lewis' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordan Joseph, who rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown. Joseph's longest rush was for an incredible 75 yards. Lewis also got a significant boost from Sharrod Mattox, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 81 yards.
Lewis' defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Tavon Brown and his two sacks.
Lewis' victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 4-3. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Douglass, Benjamin Franklin, and Green Street Academy. As for Douglass, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Lewis will look to defend their home field on Friday against Lake Clifton at 3:00 p.m. As for Douglass, they will head out on the road to face off against Forest Park at 3:45 p.m. on October 27th. Forest Park presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Douglass in Maryland (Forest Park is ranked 105th, while Douglass is ranked 216th).
