Ellie Beers put up the most strikeouts she's had since back in February on Wednesday. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and nine unearned) runs off 11 hits. She was dominant the last time she took on Batesburg-Leesville back in March, so they probably should've seen this coming. Beers has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

Beers and American Leadership Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Strom Thurmond at 7:00 p.m. on the 21st.
