Softball Recap: Ben Holt College Prep Academy Finds Home Field Redemption Against Venture Academy

There's no place like home for Ben Holt College Prep Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Everything went their way against the Venture Academy Mustangs on Monday as they made off with a 16-3 win. Considering the Bobcats have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Emma Valli was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Ben Holt College Prep Academy got a massive performance out of Julieann Drulias, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most doubles Drulias has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Adryana Young, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Ben Holt College Prep Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .355 or higher in nine consecutive matches.

Ben Holt College Prep Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-9. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Venture Academy, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-3.
