After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hopi, the Red Mesa Redskins were happy to have found some success on Friday. They came out on top against Music Mountain by a score of 56-46.
Red Mesa's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jerwin Begay, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Begay pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonah Herbert, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds.
Red Mesa's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-6. As for Music Mountain, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.
Red Mesa will stay at home for another game and welcome Seligman at 4:30 p.m. on December 20th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Seligman is ranked 264th, while Red Mesa is ranked 283rd). Music Mountain won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Rock Point at 2:30 p.m. on December 16th.
