The Spoto Spartans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Jefferson Dragons at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Spoto is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 74-41, which was the final score in Spoto's tilt against the Terriers on Tuesday. Spoto has struggled against the Terriers recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Jefferson was able to grind out a solid win over the Longhorns on Tuesday, taking the game 64-54. The win was just what Jefferson needed coming off of a 52-30 loss in their prior match.
Lazzaro Ford continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 25 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Jefferson's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emanuel Robinson, who scored 15 points.
Spoto has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Jefferson, their victory bumped their record up to 9-15.
Spoto was able to grind out a solid win over the Dragons in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, winning 67-59. Will Spoto repeat their success, or do the Dragons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
