South Hills and Saginaw are an even 3-3 against one another since August of 2015, but not for long. The South Hills Scorpions will head out on the road to face off against the Saginaw Rough Riders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 18 consecutive losses dating back to last season for South Hills and nine for Saginaw.
Last Thursday, South Hills was beaten by Azle 57-20. While losing is never fun, South Hills can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 979th, while Azle is ranked 431st).
Meanwhile, there was early excitement for Saginaw after they claimed the first score on Friday, but it was The Colony who ended up claiming the real prize. Saginaw took a serious blow against The Colony, falling 42-10. Saginaw was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-3.
South Hills' defeat was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 5.3 points per game. As for Saginaw, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.
South Hills took a serious blow against Saginaw when the teams last played back in November of 2022, falling 52-7. Can South Hills avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
