If the Chazy Eagles were feeling good off their 74-52 takedown of the Indian Lake Central Indians last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Chazy fell 71-61 to Crown Point on Wednesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Trevor Harris was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 38 points and 14 rebounds for Crown Point. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Harris has scored at least a third of Crown Point's points. Another player making a difference was Reese Pertak, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine assists.
Chazy's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-6. As for Crown Point, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chazy will square off against Keene Central at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Crown Point's road trip will continue as they head out to face Plattsburgh at 1:00 p.m. on February 10th. Crown Point knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten contests -- so hopefully Plattsburgh likes a good challenge.
