It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Midlothian Panthers can now relate to. They fell just short of Northwest by a score of 40-37. It was the first time this season that Midlothian let down their fans at home.
Northwest had a senior duo take command as Leddie Thompson threw for 157 yards and two touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes and Saheed Durodoye rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries. Durodoye really tore up the turf during one magnificent 82-yard run. Northwest also got help from Kobey Wall who showed off his sure hands for 82 receiving yards.
Midlothian's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Northwest, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.
Midlothian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Northwest will square off against Tascosa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tascosa is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
