The Struthers Wildcats will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Crestview Rebels at 5:30 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Struthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They came out on top against Chaney by a score of 47-40. The victory was some much needed relief for Struthers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Meanwhile, Crestview put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Liberty 67-26 at home. Crestview has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 22 points or more this season.
Crestview found their leader in underclassman Addison Rhodes, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Rhodes is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Luvrain Gaskins, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds.
Struthers' win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-10. As for Crestview, their victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-0.
Struthers was able to grind out a solid win over Crestview when the teams last played back in December of 2019, winning 54-44. Does Struthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will Crestview turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
