The Shawnee Indians will challenge the Elida Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Shawnee hadn't beaten Bath on the road since March 30, 2019 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. The Indians walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Wildcats. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.

Riley Rhodes made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Anna Menke was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That triple was her first of the season.
Meanwhile, Elida came tearing into Thursday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Wildcats get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by eight runs or more this season.
Like Shawnee, Elida also got a great game from a two-way player: Lilly Sifrit. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. Sifrit was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Maddie Kill was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Liv Walters was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Elida was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .467 or higher in three consecutive matches.
Shawnee pushed their record up to 5-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Elida, the victory also got them back to even at 5-5.
Shawnee might still be hurting after the 12-1 defeat they got from Elida in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Indians have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
