Kennedy Catholic. Aquinas has not had much luck with John F. Kennedy Catholic recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Aquinas saw an underclassman step up: K'Lynn Carter dropped a double-double on 23 points and 16 rebounds. That was a full 50% of Aquinas' points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Paris Everett, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds.
Chaney suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 75-41 loss at the hands of Ursuline. While losing is never fun, Chaney can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 463rd, while Ursuline is ranked 215th).
Despite the defeat, Chaney saw an underclassman step up: Alyssa Brown scored 29 points along with seven rebounds. Janiah Eiland was another key contributor, scoring four points along with eight rebounds.
Aquinas' loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Chaney, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Aquinas have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 34.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Chaney struggles in that department as they've been averaging 37.1 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
