The Highland Prep Honey Badgers suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were outmatched by San Tan Charter on the road and fell 91-42. Highland Prep was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 60-21.
When it comes to explaining why Highland Prep lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kohen Hill. Despite the final result, he scored eight points along with four steals.
Peyton Lubash was his usual excellent self, going 7 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 31 points and 2 assists for San Tan Charter. Lubash hasn't dropped below 15points for six straight games. Jase Benjamin was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five steals and two blocks.
Highland Prep's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-8. As for San Tan Charter, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 19-3.
Highland Prep won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against BASIS Phoenix at 7:00 p.m. on January 13th. BASIS Phoenix is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. San Tan Charter will take on San Carlos at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. San Carlos will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 199th, while San Tan Charter is ranked 37th).
