It was a good run, but The Platte Valley Broncos unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They lost to Wellington at home by a decisive 26-7 margin. Platte Valley was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Wellington apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Wellington was led to victory by Cash Altschwager and Tanner Gray. Altschwager rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.6 yards per carry, while Gray rushed for 119 yards and three touchdowns. Altschwager is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played.
Platte Valley's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Wellington, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-0.
Platte Valley will take on Prospect Ridge Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Prospect Ridge Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Wellington, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bennett at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bennett is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
