The biggest upset of the week belonged to Windber, who took down 177th ranked Berlin Brothersvalley, 28-20. Dustin Blough ran for 109 yards in the win.
Portage extended the longest winning streak in Western Pennsylvania [WPAC] this week by beating Homer-Center, 20-14. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Mustangs.
Blake Miller and Drew Glotfelty gave the Mountaineers a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Miller threw for 28 yards and two touchdowns, while Glotfelty ran for 213 yards. Nick Stockwell also contributed to the rushing game with six yards on the ground.
Tony Strasiser was the best wideout in the league this week as North Star beat Conemaugh Township. Strasiser racked up five receptions for 100 yards.
5-foot-10 quarterback Chad Eisenhuth of Ferndale is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1227. He has also thrown 10 touchdowns. On the ground, Shade's Brock Medva has rushed for 1719 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Strasiser. The North Star star has 38 catches for 600 yards.
