This season hasn't been kind to The Morris Catholic Crusaders, who are still winless after their tenth game. They received a tough blow on Thursday as they fell 26-7 to High Point. Morris Catholic was down 20-0 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
High Point's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mason Mericle, who rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown. Slade Muller was in the mix as well, providing High Point with two touchdowns.
Morris Catholic's loss was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-10. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-0 Caldwell and 7-2 Immaculata (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 68.9% over those games). As for High Point, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.
Morris Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. High Point also has no future games currently scheduled.
