It was a good run, but the York Cougars unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They were beaten by Clover 91-46. York has not had much luck with Clover recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why York lost, one person who can't be blamed is Logan Burris. Despite the final result, he scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Wilkins-Graham, who scored 6 points.
Clover can attribute much of their success to Jaylon Hoover, who scored 18 points along with 3 steals. The contest was Hoover's third in a row with at least ten points. Jayden Parks was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
York has yet to win a game at home this season, leaving them with a 4-1 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points per game. As for Clover, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
York will head out on the road to face off against Union County at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clover, they will be playing at home against Huss at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
