The Hondo Owls will head out on the road to face off against the Uvalde Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hondo is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
After a 6-2 finish the last time they played, Hondo and Pearsall decided to play a little more cautiously this time around. Hondo never let Pearsall onto the board and left with a 2-0 win on Friday. Even though Hondo was hit with a red card (from Uriel Nolasco), the team's aggressive strategy still got them the 'W'.
Michael Delgado was the driving force of Hondo's attack as he scored both of Hondo's goals. With that big game, he's now up to ten goals this season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to seven goals the game before, Uvalde were a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They suffered a tough 4-1 defeat at the hands of Pleasanton.
Hondo's win bumped their record up to 3-6-2. As for Uvalde, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8-2 record this season.
Hondo might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Uvalde in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Can Hondo avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
