The Addison Bulldogs had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They claimed a resounding 54-0 win over Phillips on the road. The result was nothing new for Addison, who have now won five matches by 22 points or more so far this season.
Addison's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jed Wilkins led the charge by rushing for 84 yards and two touchdowns. Braden Luker made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Addison's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-2. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Phillips, Good Hope, and Waterloo. As for Phillips, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
Addison will be playing at home against Shoals Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Phillips does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
