The Holy Trinity Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Providence-St. Mel Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Holy Trinity unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They were beaten by Ida Crown Jewish Academy 49-20. While losing is never fun, Holy Trinity can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 335th, while Ida Crown Jewish Academy is ranked 155th).
Meanwhile, Providence-St. Mel's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 75-28 loss at the hands of DePaul College Prep. Providence-St. Mel was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-9.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kenneth Miller, who scored nine points. He scored a full 32.1% of Providence-St. Mel's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ahmad Boyd, who scored nine points.
Holy Trinity's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Providence-St. Mel, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
