Menendez hasn't had much luck against Tocoi Creek recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Menendez will take on Tocoi Creek at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Menendez is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Nease.
Menendez took Nease into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-17, 24-26, 25-15, 15-9.
Leo Villar put forth a good effort for the losing side as he had ten digs.
Even though they lost, Menendez was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, Tocoi Creek unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 3-1 to Creekside.
While Tocoi Creek ultimately came up short, they really made Creekside work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 28-26, 26-28, 25-19.
Menendez's record is now 0-5. As for Tocoi Creek, they suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 4-3.
Menendez might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Tocoi Creek in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Menendez avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
