The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Ralston Valley in their matchups with Highlands Ranch: they've now lost four in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Ralston Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Sophia Sabus. Despite the final result, she scored 18 points along with eight rebounds. The match was Sabus' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Sammi Madden was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Highlands Ranch to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kniyah Dumas, who scored 15 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Those six assists set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Tori Baker, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds.
Ralston Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Highlands Ranch, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-1.
Ralston Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Legacy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Highlands Ranch will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against George Washington at 6:30 p.m. on December 13th. The timing isn't great for George Washington: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Highlands Ranch has snatched up five consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.
