The Piedmont Classical Bobcats are on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Carver Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Piedmont Classical beat the Phoenix 52-45.
Christian Daye was a one-man wrecking crew for Piedmont Classical as he scored 17 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Daye has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalen Ferrell, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Carver put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 76-50 margin over Cornerstone Charter. Winning may never get old, but Carver sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Jeremiah Glaspie was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with five steals and two blocks. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jaqarius Houston, who scored eight points along with six assists and five steals.
Piedmont Classical has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a massive bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for Carver, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Tuesday's contest is shaping up to be a scrappy match: Piedmont Classical haven't given up the ball easily this season, having only averaged 9.2 turnovers per game. It's a different story for Carver, though, as they've been averaging 20.9 turnovers per game. Given Piedmont Classical's sizable advantage in that area, the Yellowjackets will need to find a way to close that gap.
Piedmont Classical skirted past the Yellowjackets 55-52 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Piedmont Classical since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
