Despite their loss, East Tech saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Cleveland Central Catholic against John Hay on Friday as the team secured a 68-41 victory. The Ironmen have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 27 points or more this season.
Cleveland Central Catholic's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for East Tech, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.
East Tech was able to grind out a solid victory over Cleveland Central Catholic in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 73-62. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Tech since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
