The Hitchcock County Falcons suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They took a serious blow against Alma, falling 59-32. Hitchcock County has struggled against Alma recently, as their game on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Hitchcock County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Katie Jarecke, who scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Asia Homma, who scored three points along with two steals.
Alma got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tierston Moore out in front who scored 16 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Addison Siebels was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Hitchcock County has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Alma, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 13-1.
Hitchcock County will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Paxton at 5:00 p.m. Hopefully Paxton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday. As for Alma, Alma and Loomis will face off on January 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Loomis will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 165th, while Alma is ranked 42nd).
