The St. Paul Wildcats's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They skirted past North Central 43-41. The win was just what St. Paul needed coming off of a 61-18 loss in their prior match.
St. Paul was led to victory by Gracie Mudloff and Gracie Kelley. Mudloff scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists, while Kelley scored 17 points along with nine rebounds. Those seven assists set a new season-high mark for her.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Adisyn Anderson, who scored 13 points along with four steals. The match was Anderson's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Mya Lewis, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
St. Paul's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for North Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Paul and Scotus will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Scotus presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than St. Paul in Nebraska (Scotus is ranked 75th, while St. Paul is ranked 200th). As for North Central, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] at 6:00 p.m.
