D1 District 5 (8 Man) recap September 10, 2013
Heartland's Jordan Heinrichs rumbled for the longest rushing play in D1 District 5 (8 Man) this season in his game against Shelby-Rising City last week. Heinrichs' team beat the Huskies as he sprinted for 73 yards on the play and finished with 123 in all.
Harvard took down Sumner-Eddyville-Miller 51-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Colton Ives threw for 32 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 66 yards during the win.
Tyler Brown was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 261 yards on 15 carries as Heartland defeated Shelby-Rising City.
Brown was a beast in the backfield as Erik Wetjen's team beat Jerald Humlicek's team.
Ives put up the best numbers in passing as the Cardinals defeated the Mustangs. Ives' favorite target this week was Salvador Ledesma, who caught 2 passes for 23 yards.
Brown was a passing and rushing force as the Huskies defeated the Huskies.
Anthony Cardona was a key player and the best on defense this week as Harvard bested Sumner-Eddyville-Miller. The 5-foot-10 sophomore.
Camacho was the best receiver in the league this week as Heartland defeated Shelby-Rising City.
Leading D1 District 5 (8 Man) in both passing and receiving yards, McCool Junction's Damon Kaliff and Alex Preslicka have proven to be a lethal combination. 5-9 quarterback Kaliff has thrown for 71 yards this season, while Preslicka has 3 catches for 71 yards. The Huskies' Brown leads the league in rushing yards with 261.
Heartland led the league in scoring this week by notching 70 points on the Huskies. Brown caught 1 passes for 11 yards in the win.
