Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Bingham's 11th in Last 12 Outings

It's playoff time, and Bingham had no trouble coming through when it counted. They never let the Mountain Ridge Sentinels get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Miners, who have now won 14 matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Brecka Larson was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Shyann Banasky, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Zalia Carrillo was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Bingham hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least one batters in three consecutive games.

Bingham is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 21-8-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Mountain Ridge, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 23-5.

As of now, neither Bingham nor the Sentinels have any future games scheduled.
