The Bandys Trojans will challenge the St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Bandys took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Bunker Hill a 10-0 shutout.
Bunker Hill's batters probably weren't too happy with Chase Welch, who pitched a no hitter and racked up six Ks (he gave up three walks). Welch also allowed no hits, which is notable because Bandys is undefeated when he allows at most three hits, but 3-11 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Drake Tucker, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Easton Ledford, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Bandys was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, St. Vincent-St. Mary got the win against Lutheran West on Thursday by a conclusive 10-0. That's two games straight that the Fighting Irish have won by exactly ten runs.
Ashton Tamzarian was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zack Kurkey, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI and one run.
The win made it two in a row for St. Vincent-St. Mary and bumps their season record up to 5-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Bandys, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-11.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Bandys has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like St. Vincent-St. Mary struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
